PROJECTS

INTERWOVEN

We focus on creating multifaceted experiences using modern technological tools not available to Spartak and intertwining the heirloom's historical and cultural significance with contemporary possibilities using our imagination and skills. We want to bring Spartak’s art to resonate with the modern audience while thinking about his past limitations and his futuristic vision.

Our concept involves three main focuses:

Revival

Augmentation

Installation

Project Name

LEGACY

Our Focus is Revival

This project focuses on the revival of SPARTAK’s lost art. For this, we dedicated a book that covers Spartak’s life, biography, and birthplace. The book also covers his story and that of his immediate family. Our team could locate a brief radio interview recorded with Spartak in Russian in Soviet Armenia. We could also find three of his works in the Armenian Museum and two more in archives.

We are excited to present Spartak’s breathtaking works, celebrating his significant contribution to both Armenian and Soviet heritage. Our events page highlights past and upcoming exhibitions, showcasing the original pieces in worldwide galleries. We remain dedicated to collaborating with both local and international galleries and art communities, actively participating in cultural events to bring Spartak’s legacy to a global audience.

Project Name

PUSAKA

Our Focus is Revival

This project’s focus is an augmentation of the original Pusaka.

What is Pusaka, you may ask?

It powerfully represents our vision to transform and augment the original vintage heirloom using digital tools while respecting and celebrating its historical significance. The name encapsulates our commitment to honoring the past while creating a new narrative that resonates with contemporary audiences, thus connecting heritage and innovation.

Pusaka is actually derived from Malay & Indonesian languages and translates to inheritance or heirloom. We wanted to use the Armenian word for Pusaka, Zharangord, but felt Pusaka sounded more fun :).

We would like to invite our viewers in on the original vision and version of the pusaka. We let you reflect on the societal, cultural, and political barriers of the time when and where Spartak lived. Then, we invite you to explore the “what ifs” of how new generations can use new technologies to provide fresh avenues for Spartak’s expression.

This project aims to illuminate the dynamic interplay between the past and present, offering more profound insights into Spartak’s legacy while fostering new possibilities for artistic creation…Augmented Pusaka

Below are the works from the series “Drama of Life”, where we used distortion and non-destructively re-edited effects. The digital images exported with lossless compression for maximum quality. We named each original peace.
